The Progressives Governors Forum declared on 14 September 2026 that it would not support any political alliance or arrangement capable of undermining President Tinubu's re-election bid or the APC's prospects at any level in 2027. Forum chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma made the declaration after a closed-door meeting of APC governors in Abuja, calling for unity behind the party's ticket.
