Senate President Godswill Akpabio commissioned the Opebi–Mende–Ojota Link Bridge in Lagos on 8 April 2026 on behalf of President Tinubu, who did not attend in person, along with the Lagos State Geographical Information System building and a new multi-agency administrative complex. The 5.04-kilometre bridge is intended to ease traffic congestion within the Ikeja corridor and improve connectivity across busy commercial and residential areas in Nigeria's commercial capital.
